Medela's life-altering Quick Clean Micro-steam sterilization bags are now locally available! As a breastfeeding mom working full-time, I find these bags to be a real-time saver. Just put your breastpump shields and parts in the bag, pour in some water, microwave for 3-5 minutes and you're done! These bags are great for sterilizing when you are away from home, visiting family for the weekend, and so on. They are also great for sterilizing bottles and other accessories when pressed for time. Each bag is good for 20 uses, and each box holds 5 bags. Reasonably priced at P890/box (100 uses).

Recent findings show have shown that many babies are unknowingly exposed to harmful substances called PHTHALATES. These substances are contained in shampoo, bath soap and lotions, particularly those with artificial fragrances. These are a by-product of processing, not an active ingredient, and so they do not often appear on the product label. Increased levels of these chemicals have been associated with abnormal levels of reproductive hormones in babies. While true harmful effects/long-term effect are still to be determined, it is probably best to avoid exposure if possible. Check labels and choose products that have been labeled phthalate-free.
